Today we had our first class and it was fantastic. I really feel like I learned so much about Sweden today even though I've been reading about it for so long now. It's like it took hearing it for it to really sink in. They are so cool here, as are their services. Free health care. Imagine. Free education. Imagine. A year or more off from work, for mom and/or dads, at the birth of a child, PAID. Imagine. Imagine a world where citizens of a country actually cared about the health and welfare of one another. Who shared so that all citizens could have a comfortable life. Imagine a world where old people who may be lonely, or unable to do their dishes, or whose children have to work during the day. Imagine being old and having needs and then having someone fill those needs, for free. Sounds almost Christian.
It is so frustrating (and embarrassing) to come from a country that values war and money more than anything else then has the gall to call itself Christian.
