Well, I hope the community has a nice time hand-wringing about the damage done to the innocent little children....though I suspect not so much in Floyd. But perhaps I'm romanticizing my favorite little hippie town too much.

Naughtiness in Floyd
This Current article reports the late breaking news that *gasp* some students at Floyd County High School saw several seconds of porn while they were supposed to be viewing the beginnings of a SADD (drunk driving) documentary. Parents were assured that the incident is currently under investigation. The perps, or should we save pervs, will pay! Really, is this something that you need to send a letter home to parents about? Would they have done the same thing is students had been exposed to explicit violence?

Well, the thing is that Floyd's not really a hippie town. It's a county mostly full of country people and a handful of hippies who are so loud and attention-grabbing that they make outsiders think it's a hippie town.
I really had to laugh about the porn incident. My sister called to tell me about it. Apparently everyone's talking about it.
